Currently, there are more animals available for adoption than there are homes for them, resulting in over four million dogs and cats being euthanized in the U.S. every year. This number is less than it was 20 years ago, mainly due to the introduction of low-cost spay and neuter programs. Unfortunately, the number of animals euthanized annually has reached a plateau because there is still a significant segment of the population that does not sterilize their pets. We must make it easier to do the right thing!
